hey, :)
Its been awhile since i wrote a legit blog post, and not just one where i could fill in the blanks... so today, i am going to write a le-gi-ta-ma-te blog post.
Okay i take it back, it might not be all that legit, because i can't think of much overly profound things to talk about...but i will do my best.
First of all, i have been reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.
I love C.S. Lewis.
Until last week, i never knew what the "C" and "S" stood for, and when i found out what it stood for, i was quite upset that i hadn't known sooner. Who would even consider abbreviating a name as clever as Clive Staples Lewis? I mean, i understand abbreviating a name like John Ronald Reuel Tolkien...that's just a mouthful (and, in my humble opinion, a tad boring), but Clive Staples? That is one, flat-out, awesome name. His parents knew how to name a child. He even looks like a Clive! And Staples? There just isn't a cooler name than that.
But although i could ramble on and on about all of the evil conspiracies that happen when parents think up names for their children, and all of the pure skills it takes to do an impressive job at the aforesaid task, i shall restrain myself.
Hmmm, where was i? Oh yeah, Mere Christianity.
Two words. GOOD BOOK.
I love the last chapter. If you don't want to read the whole book, just read the last chapter, or even the last paragraph.
In fact, i might just type part of the paragraph out here. Yes, i think i will, so no one reading my blog will have any reason to have not read it.

Read. It. Now. :)
“Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, death of your ambitions and favorite wishes every day and death of your whole body in the end: submit with every fiber of your being, and you will find eternal life. Keep back nothing. Nothing that you have not given away will be really yours. Nothing in you that has not died will ever be raised from the dead. Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.”
See, it is pretty amazing.
I always find myself forgetting about how i really am supposed to lose my life for Christ. The more i lose myself for Christ, the more i will gain of Him. It's a good thing to be reminded of.
Well, now i have to think of some other things to talk about. Like, my siblings.
I love them. I'll just give y'all some examples from today of why, exactly, i love my siblings.
Cole-
My loving brother spent the entire morning attempting to teach me to swing dance. HA. Thanks for trying, Cole. ;)
Yonas-
We had a sit up contest today. I am very sad to admit that he won, by a long shot. But i still love him. :)
Ella-
Watching Ella swing dance with Cole was SO, SO, SO CUTE. I love her so much. She has this little dance that she does all. the. time. Its so adorable.
Isaiah-
He is just SO cute. I just noticed today that four of his molars came in. Those are the cutest teeth i have ever seen. Just precious.
I can't say anything about my siblings without talking about how much i love those awesome parents of mine, now can i?
Mom-
I love how she stays up late and plays games with my friends and I. You make it so much more fun!
Dad-
I love how he hands me a dishwasher water control gauge and tells me to figure out what it is. :) Good times.
Next time, i think I'm going to just make a long list of all the things i love. That might take, like, forever. But that doesn't matter because it would be fun. :)
Well, i am going to go read The Epic of Gilgamesh, because that's what every cool teenage girl does in her free time. ;)
Now, y'all have an awesome day/week/month/life. <3
In Christ alone,
Hailey Jo
Haha Hailey! I love your blog!! :) Hmm...I'm not sure what to say about the name Clive Staples... :S Besides that... that paragraph IS amazing!
